I am a painter living and working in Cambridgeshire. I was born on Merseyside in 1959 and went to Newcastle University where I gained a B.A.(Hons) in Fine Art in 1981.
My work is mixed media and involves the use of a variety of materials, including different paints, plaster and wax. I work on paper and board, building up textured surfaces and adding or taking away elements until a point of resolution is reached.
I work intuitively, allowing an interplay between the conscious and the unconscious, the material and the metaphysical. I take my inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including derelict buildings, patterns in landscape, poetry, classical music and jazz.
